Board of Directors

Lindsay Tanner

Chairman

Lindsay was the federal MP for the seat of Melbourne from 1993 to 2010 and has worked at the highest levels of government and business for over 35 years, including as federal Minister for Finance and Deregulation from 2007-2010, where he played a significant role in regulatory reform in the financial services sector.

Mr Tanner is a recognised authority on corporate governance and holds a number of positions in the private and public sectors. These include as a Non-Executive Director of Suncorp Group, a Special Adviser for Lazard (Australia), President of the Essendon Football Club and Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow for Victoria University.

Marcus Price

CEO & Managing Director

Marcus has over three decades of experience building successful growth companies across a range of industries. Notably, he developed and managed an entirely new, transformative business from startup to sale in Australia’s first digital property exchange, PEXA, which sold to a consortium in early 2019 for $1.6 billion. He specialises in early stage and competitive market entry businesses bringing extensive skills in competitive market analysis, equity structures and financial engineering.

Marcus has held senior positions with National Australia Bank as well as the Boston Consulting Group. In addition, he developed and exited financial services businesses as the CEO and Executive Director for both Veda and Dun & Bradstreet.

Sue Thomas

Director

Sue has had a distinguished career in law, corporate finance, IT and financial services. She is an experienced company director and audit and risk committee chair. During the 1990s, Sue established and grew FlexiPlan Australia (subsequently MasterKey Custom), a successful investment administration platform sold later to MLC. Sourcing strategic partners and growing administered funds, Sue’s achievements saw her acknowledged as an industry leader by the financial planning community, at the forefront of Australia’s FinTech sector.

Sue currently serves on several boards including Temple and Webster, Advance Asset Management, Asgard Capital Management, BT Portfolio Services and Westpac Financial Services.

Teddy Wasserman

Director

Teddy Wasserman is the founder and managing partner of Cloverhill Group, a holding company for real estate, private equity and venture investment funds. Cloverhill has over US$500m deployed capital since inception. Cloverhill is an advisor and investor in Afiniti, a data science software company. Cloverhill Ventures, a subsidiary of Cloverhill Group is a consumer retail and technology focused early state investment platform.

Teddy spent 2010 through 2016 at Deutsche Bank as a Managing Director leading Equity Derivatives and Cross Asset Trading. Teddy joined Deutsche from Goldman Sachs, where he spent 10 years starting in the financial analyst program in 2000 and rising to Managing Director in 2008. Teddy has a B.A. in Economics and Art History from Williams College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Matthew Kibble

Director

Matthew Kibble is an experienced financial services executive across asset management and investment banking (M & A, capital markets), emerging market equities and derivatives. Matthew began his career as an accountant at Ernst and Young and spent over 5 years with JPMorgan Chase in the Consumer, Healthcare and Retail Investment Banking and Institutional Asian Equities and Derivatives before launching the Latin American investment vehicle Everlight Capital. He later joined the private family office investment vehicle Cap-Meridian Ventures as a partner with a broad mandate to invest in numerous asset classes globally, mainly disruptive technologies with superior operations teams.

In 2012, Matthew founded the private investment group Kibble Holdings LLC (“KH”) with a similar thesis. Matthew is a director of Andina Acquisition Corporation III, Eaton Hemp, Kibble Pet and Pacific Infrastructure Partners. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance and Accounting, and a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biomedical Sciences, both from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Andrew Peterson

CEO Diversa

Andrew Peterson is an Executive Director and CEO of Diversa and CCSL.

Andrew brings more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including roles with Required Financial Services, Aviva Investors / Antares Equities, Timbercorp and IOOF.

With a focus on asset management, including executive leadership, sales, research, compliance, and product development across the retail and wholesale sectors, he has forged a reputation as a commercially-focused, results driven, and strategic executive.

Yvonne Kelaher

Head of Corporate Trust

Yvonne has over 21 years’ experience in the financial services industry including 19 years’ providing corporate trustee, custody and administration services to the equity and debt capital markets. Yvonne has extensive experience across a variety of products and asset classes.

Prior to Yvonne being appointed as Head of Corporate Trust in May 2018, she led the Relationship & Transaction Management Team, responsible for client relationships, implementing new business and deal negotiation.

Yvonne’s experience has been gained at organisations including State Street and Westpac Institutional Bank.

Darran Goodger

Chief Financial Officer

Darran Goodger joined the business in 2018 and is the Chief Financial Officer of Certane. In his current role Darran has day-to-day responsibility for all group financial aspects of the business and is also a Director on a number of the licenced subsidiary boards.

Darran brings nearly 30 years of financial services industry experience within overseas companies such as Merrill Lynch and Man Group PLC and more recently executive leadership roles in prominent technology driven hedge funds within Australia.

Daniel Wirjoprawiro

Chief Technology Officer

Daniel is the Chief Technology Officer of Certane, having joined the business since inception. He leads the development of the technology and teams that enable the efficient delivery of funds and financial products to investors, across trustee, fund administration and custody capabilities.

Daniel brings more than 10 years of experience in the delivery of software solutions, across solutions architecture, information security, software engineering and DevOps. As a curious and dynamic executive, Daniel combines in-depth technical knowledge and commercial acumen to deliver client outcomes.

Daniel’s career has traversed the spectrum of a full-stack engineer to an investment professional, primarily focused on solutions in the intersection of finance and technology. Daniel has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, is a Certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect Professional and is a member of the Actuaries Institute and Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Linda Moldovan

Head of People & Culture

Linda Moldovan is Head of People & Culture at Certane. Linda joined the business in 2017 and in her role of Head of People & Culture she leads and shapes the people and culture strategy by enhancing the employee experience, as well as ensuring the smooth transition of employees of acquired businesses.

With over 25 years’ experience gained within the financial and professional services industry, Linda enjoyed a long tenure at Mercer and contracting assignments, which include Telstra Super and Marsh & McLennan Companies.

Linda is results orientated and through her experience working across Asia Pacific in both operational and strategic roles, enjoys partnering with key stakeholders in delivering practical outcomes and solutions.

Simon Aboud

Chief Marketing Officer

Simon joined the business in 2019, bringing over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry including roles leading marketing and product development. Simon has experience across retail banking, wealth management, asset management and broking businesses. Simon also has experience across a variety of products and asset classes.

As Chief Marketing Officer for Certane, Simon is accountable for all facets of brand and marketing strategy working closely with each of our service offerings.

Prior to joining Certane Simon gained experience at organisations including Macquarie Group, FIIG Securities and Westpac.

Justin Schmitt

General Counsel

Justin has a long history in financial services having held senior legal counsel roles at both Westpac and NAB. More recently Justin has had a number of roles at PEXA including General Counsel where he was responsible for establishing the legal and contractual frameworks and ensuring PEXA’s financial settlement model met all of the regulatory requirements.

His last role was part of PEXA’s executive leadership team as Group Executive Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, being responsible for all of PEXA’s regulatory interactions and internal/external communications and media.

Bala Shastri

Chief Risk Officer

Bala is an experienced financial services professional, having held various senior roles in risk and compliance at NAB Wealth (MLC), and more recently as the Head of Risk & Compliance at Praemium, before joining the Group in February 2020. With sound expertise across superannuation and investments, Bala has contributed to the thought leadership across the industry through various articles and having presented at a number of industry forums on both risk management and financial services.

With extensive experience partnering with senior executives and providing guidance on risk management implementations, supporting and delivering regulatory change, large business transformations and strategic risk management initiatives, Bala is both practical and commercial in his approach to risk and compliance. Bala is passionate about utilising risk management concepts, tools and frameworks to drive business performance, whilst maintaining a relentless focus on delivering value for the end consumer.
